Thank you to all of the BeachStreetSchool Families who generously donated food for the Scituate Food Pantry this month.
DECEMBER “CARING AND SHARING”:
The teachers will be putting together stockings for Scituate Community Christmas for boys and girls from ages 2-9. If you would like to make a donation of stocking stuffer items, there is a box outside of the office. Suggested stocking stuffer items would be crayons, markers, matchbox cars, costume jewelry, small toys, peanut free candy, stickers and toiletries. All items need to be donated by Friday, December 9th so that the stockings can be assembled by our staff and delivered to families in need.
HOLIDAY COOKING DAY
BRING SOMEONE SPECIAL TO SCHOOL:
A special someone such as Mom/Dad/Grandma/Grandpa can come join us on Tuesday, December 6th and Wednesday, December 7th at 11:15am and 2:45pm. (Please only one guest per child). We will be decorating cookies in the Nursery Classes and making gingerbread houses in the Pre K Classes! (Please no younger siblings).
HOLIDAY PARTIES:
Mama Steph will be here for a Holiday sing-along on Thursday, December 15th from 11:00am – 11:30am for AM Nursery classes and 2:30pm – 3:00pm for PM Nursery and 4 Day Pre K classes. She will also be here on Friday, December 16th from 11:00am – 11:30am for AM 3 Day Nursery and AM Pre K classes and 2:30pm – 3:00pm for PM 3 Day Pre K class. We welcome parents and younger siblings to come and enjoy the music!
HOLIDAY EXTENDED DAYS:
We are offering extended day times for all classes during the holiday shopping season. A signup sheet is posted outside the office. Cost is $40 and includes snack, holiday songs, stories, holiday crafts and lots of fun! Don’t forget to pack a lunch.
PARENT GUEST READERS:
If you would like to come in to your child’s class to be a guest reader, talk with the teachers and schedule a day. We love to have guest readers!
REMINDERS:
Beach Street School will be closed from Monday, December 19th through Friday, December 30th. School will re-open on Tuesday, January 3rd.
We do go out everyday unless the temperature is below 20 degrees or raining or the playground is too icy so please dress accordingly. Snow pants, boots, hats and mittens should be sent in your child’s backpack. The children are learning self help skills. Mittens are much easier for the children to put on than gloves. Thank you for your help!

REGISTRATION: A FEW CHANGES TO THE REGISTRATION PROCESS – WE ARE NOW EXCEPTING REGISTRATION FORMS FOR PRE K CLASSES. NO NEED TO WAIT UNTIL JANUARY. IF NECESSARY, THERE WILL BE A LOTTERY FOR THE 3 DAY PRE K AND WILL BE HELD AT END OF JANUARY.
Registration for September 2012
2 Day Nursery Classes: Children who will be 2.9 years by Sepember 2012 whose parents do no not need to observe a class may register anytime after November 1st. Parents who need to observe a class may call to set up an appointment after November 10th. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
3 Day Nursery Class: Children who will be 3 by September 2012 whose parents do not need to observe a class may register anytime after November 1st. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
3 Day and 4 Day Pre K Classes: Children must be four by September 1, 2012. Registration forms are available in the office. If necessary, there will be a lottery for the 3 Day AM Pre K class. Lottery drawing will be held at the end of January.
Pre K/Nursery Enrichment: Registration is on a first come, first serve basis beginning November 1st. A deposit is required to hold a spot.
New to Beach Street School - September 2012!
5 Day AM Pre K Class: We are now offering a 5 Day AM Pre K Class. We are accepting Registration for this class beginning November 1st on a first come, first serve basis.
Early Risers Club: Available daily from 8:00am – 9:00am. Drop-ins welcome, space permitted.
Afternoon Discovery Club: Available Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 3:15pm – 5:00pm. “Let’s move”! Discover the fun of gross motor and outdoor activities. (Choose 1, 2, or 3 Days). Drop-ins welcome, space permitted.
